Ji Peiding

Ji Peiding is a member of the Standing Committee of China's legislative body, the National People's Congress, and Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. He is a career diplomat and specialist in African Affairs. His service in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs culminated in a two-year posting in Hong Kong as the MFA Commissioner.

He spent much of his career dealing with Africa, including postings to Nigeria, Zimbabwe and then as Ambassador to Namibia. In the late 1990s he was first Assistant Minister, then Vice Minister responsible for African affairs and Protocol.
